After work I plan on going detecting at the local airport. While this may not sound like much but back during WWII it was a mecca for training. At one time there were an estimated 20,000 troops training in the area. I have permission to hunt the area where the old bunk houses were located. It will be easy to find since the concrete footings are still in place. I can't wait till 3:00 rolls around. All in all I have access to about 100 acres of land to search if not more. The total area is about 600 acres.
The bunks were abandoned and sold off to schools when the war was over and the military gave the airport to the city so no modern trash should be around.

Wish me luck!!

Thanks folks, I doubt that it has been hunted very hard. For one its very grown up and I would imagine snakey. I'll be watching for those.
