i found this crushed into the asphalt in a busy part of town. i pried it off the cement and when i got home i took the red stone out of its setting. i think its glass because its coated on the back but i also think the metal is pure gold.
i am going to try the gravity thing with water and scale.
should be fun.
im sorry the red stone is kinda blurry, i kept trying to get a pic that wasnt blurry but it was too hard. once again, sorry.

Have it tested ! I'm a tiny bit concerned about what appears to be gold paint on the underside of the stone - it seems a bit incongruous with high karat ( or pure) gold ? Just sayin ...interesting find - let us know what you find out ! Welcome to Treasurenet !

Precious and semi-precious gems are never painted/coated with Gold paint on the underside, so it is likely glass and the jewelry is quite possibly not Gold. Sorry!

Try and take it to a jeweler so they can glue in the stone and maybe you can wear it out detecting, could bring you good luck--since you rescued it. HAPPY HUNTING
