Well my buddy that overslept last weekend got himself out of bed this morning. We went to hunt the couple tiny parks that we were supposed to hunt last weekend. It quickly became obvious that no one had been to these parks for quite some time. I had myself a really good day pulling out $6 in clad along with some gold and my fifth silver coin of the year.
My goodies were:
A set of grills (10 or 14K white gold, havent tested yet), 1961 (?) Rosie, Leatherman micra pocket knife, a regular pocket knife, a womens Timex watch (wife said thank you), a kids 14K gold ring (#9 for the year), a junk shoe pendant (calling it that until I find out if it is silver) and about $6 in clad.
I was starting feel bad for my buddy as I was pulling all these goodies out he was getting nothing but clad and junk. All of a sudden I heard him say "I dont believe it!". I went to look at what he was staring at and in his hand he was holding a 1998 American Eagle 1 oz. silver coin in a protective plastic case. I would have traded everything I found for that one find!
Heres the pics of the loot. Enjoy and HH.

P.S. Has anyone else found grills? Havent seen any posted and this is the second time I foind them. Last time was just the upper part but thos time it was a set. Both since the beginning of the year.

Wow what a great hunt! I'm thinking you'll be back to that park.
I saw someone post a grill on here about a month ago.
A grill's on my list of wants. You're giving me hope that there's one out there.

Great finds and congrats to the both of yous!
I have either 3 or 4 grills, can't remember off hand. They packed away for safe keeping, for now. I don't post a lot of pics and I'm travelling right now. Once I get back home I'll throw some pics up.
I've never found a matching set though. Nice finds.

What makes you think the grill is 14K? It's clearly marked as silver in big letters (element symbol: Ag). :laughing7: Anyhow, awesome finds!

I highly doubt that anyone wearing those knows that Ag is silver. More likely initials for a gang or street name.

Great finds, congrads!

Might want to tell you buddy that is a PROOF silver eagle. You can tell by the frosting of the surfaces. Finding proof coins are rare and a eagle to boot:hello2:

I did tell him that. I told him to go by a coinshop to get another case to replace that one. Told him to have them put it in the new case just to make sure nothing happens to it. Thanks for the replies and HH.

Oh by the way I did have to ask a guy that was wearing a grill how on earth you would lose them. His reply was because of pot smoking... He explained that pot leaves a black residue on them meaning that they would have to be cleaned (pain in the rear I guess). So most people take them out when smoking and if they are outside just put them on their lap. Now they are high and forget about them being on their lap and Voila! we have some goodies left behind for us to pick up. (He said he had lost 5 grills in the last couple of years...LMAO.) This info was for you Mr. Fix. Hope it helps.

I drive all around my area for work and if I get a chance I hunt where ever I am. 99% of the time its just parks and ballfields.
