Spent the week with the family at Emerald Isle and got in quite a bit of detecting .
This was my first try at beach detecting and I learned quite a bit . I used my Etrac and a modified feed scoop that I drilled holes in . My wish list now includes a long handled sand scoop and a water machine. My arm is still throbbing from digging with that scoop .
My son and I ended up finding $18 in change , 4 rings (two 10 K gold , one silver , one SS) , sunglasses, belly button ring and lots and lots of pull tabs and junk.
These were the first rings I ever found and I was pretty excited but not as excited as my 8 year old son who danced around and screamed gold and then in case no one understood him spelled out G O L D at the top of his lungs. Had to caution him to be a little more low key next time lol . No big money finds but I was very happy and had a great time . I told my wife next year I needed to schedule our vacation at the lowest part of low tide .
