I got permission from a farmer to hunt his farm,
all 400 acres of it and he even showed me where
the orinal homestead stood over 200 years ago.
Ive been on a bad luck streak lately with little silver
and absolutely no gold and today that was coming
to an end !
It started off nicely with me finding a 1916 d merc
at 6 inches deep, then it got even better, a 1899 $5
gold coin at 4 inches , finally my first gold coin !
I was only begining to warm up, the next signal hit
at 8+ inches, dug down and bingo, my second gold
$5 coin, it is a 1880 "s" mint, shoot yes !!
The farmers eyes lit up as I put these coins in my
goodies bag and kept detecting.
The silver started showing itself again, a 1889 morgan,
a 1887, two 1912 barber quarters then the big surprise ,
I woke up, April fools day everyone !!

You had me going until you said the farmer watched you put the gold into the goodie bag!!!!!!.
if you found those the farmer would have recended his permission and went out and bought his own detector!!!! Great story!!! HH Chug

I can't wait to see you and Steves finds..

I'll be with the Cladman tomorow and Steve won't be here until the end of the month. As for finds it will have to be a lucky one because we will have to work for targets where we're going. But it's a good site! so.....

Sounds like an "okay" day detecting...nothing special in your finds, but keep at it, you'll find something worthwhile.
