I have 2 older foreign gold coins. One is German 10 Mark Piece: Front, "Deutssches Reich 1898", reverse side:
"WILHILM II DEUTSCHER KAISER KONIG V PREUSSEN" about the size of a dime. The second one is French, Front: "franciscvs iosephvs.i.d.c.imperator.et.rex", reverse side: "IMPERIVM AVSTRIACVM 1892. Also about dime size. anyone hazzard a guess as to value? went to one coin dealer and he said they were only worth the gold content, about $60 - $65 each.

The Prussian 10 marks coin is worth $95 in Very Fine condition; in lower grades, only bullion value. It is .900 fine (90%). Actual pure gold content is .1152 oz. Current bullion value: $74.78

The second coin is Austrian, not French; based on the size cited, the denomination is 4 florins / 10 francs. It is also .900 fine (90%). Actual pure gold content is .0933 oz. The 1892, a restrike issue, has only bullion value in circulated condition— currently, $60.57.
