It is finally broken for your long gold curse. Me and my body went to our old permission we had and we thought we had a pound it out. I got 3 Wheaties, 2 1944's and a 1926 greenie, 1970's Tractor Trailer, and a little religious bracelet piece. Also I'm not sure if that's a button or not but it's got a lot of patina on it and it's thicker than a nickel. Last but not least my 1g 14 karat gold vintage miraculous medal. It has to be old because it was laying flat and it was about 6" deep. My boy found a 3 buffalo spill at 4" deep Anyway great day for me thanks to JoeDirty for sharing his permission. Nice finds. The pendant sure looks like gold, but I don't see any markings or hallmarks. Maybe I missing them (I sure hope and pray I'm missing them), but are you 100% positive it's gold? I am really trying not to rain all on anyone's parade; I'm really hoping it's gold!

There are no markings, another reason why I think it's old or plated. I thought plated at first, but when I did the acid test and scratched it, it was gold all the way through. Then I did 10k it didn't dissolve and then 14k didn't dissolve. But the 14k was smoking, do you know what that means?

Now you got me thinking. When I get home I'm going to give it a good good scratch and tested again. The beauty part about it is I've been in such a gold slump that even if it's plated I'll still be happy. Lol

Boy, I hope it's 14K throughout. Did you try 18K solution also?
