This is an entirely self congratulatory post. Took a long lunch today and drove over to a TS on 202 in Bernardsville area (N.J.). 14 bucks bought 1/2 carat diamond studs with 14k gold flower jackets. You'd think the safety backs would have been a giveaway. Also a sterling Bali bangle. I had a hell of a time trying to get the stones out in my office ( I need them for a project). Cut both fingers and gave myself an unintentional tattoo by driving a pen into my thumb. The other stone will have to wait.

That is a nice looking receipt. ;)

Should post the diamond picture in this thread instead of starting another one. Very nice pieces & price tag, though! I'd definitely check back if that is how they priced those pieces..

2x 1/2 karat diamonds? Those are worth a pretty penny if they're real lol

Awesome FIND!!! I have not found anything at thrift stores in a while. I suspect all those Cash For Gold places have something to do with it.

Thanks for all your comments. You know what's weird -- for what it is, the price is excellent. But you have to presume the store did not know it was gold or silver. If they thought it was costume -- $5.00 and $6.50 was rather over-priced.

Diamonds are good - about .40 and .38 carats. Clarity is decent. Color is unfortunately in the K range though. My whole family makes jewelry so we will use them in another project.

Nice finds!

Personally, those prices seem about right. At last down here they do. For costume, I mean.
