GOLD FOUND DO I KEEP OR PUT BACK

I found a nice little gold nugget
had it tested and it is over 18k maby 22 to 24k
after returning to search for more i notice a layer of grey grit about 2 inches down

so im thinking my nugget might be from melted teeth from a creamation

im not sure on this so heres the POLL

Keep im mind two facts
1 i dont know if its cremation ashes or not
2 it was found in a state puplic park

do I keep it or put it back

it has a value of about 50 bucks.

Only you can make that decision. You have to base your decision on what you feel is right. If you base it on what others think , you are only looking for justification.

Just keep it regardless!! If it was a cemetery it would be different, but its a park. You have no reason for guilt and I guarantee the poles will prove that. 8)

I agree with Johnny Ringo...Cemetaries and parks are two different stories. Keep the gold and be happy that you found it.

crematoriums also grind any bits of bone or other matter that makes it through the heat process. i would think it would be unlikely that the gold you found is from a cremation. i would keep it.

Yep, to what TT and hollowpointred said.

Have you ever seen cremated remains? They look like a bag of uncut drugs. Powdery, off-white colored.

Enjoy your find.

Re: GOLD FOUND DO I KEEP OR PUT BACK

Would/could scattering of ashes cause that?

We've scattered ashes 4 times and they never left a layer, that I know of (except once on my shoes.).

Did you did the gold or was in right on top of the ground?

(The answer to the questions do not change my opinion - keep the gold - if you put it back, someone else would find it eventually, anyway).

Re: GOLD FOUND DO I KEEP OR PUT BACK

the gold that was there was not and is not a body part like a arm or leg is --even if it was once a tooth filling --it was gold before it was made into a filling -- due to creamation the body it was in is utterly gone ---ashes to ashes ---- thus the gold is now "unattached" or basically back to its original "free" state -- thus its not in the "body" anymore ----if it was a gold tooth still in a corpses head buried in a grave --yah its attached so leave it be since to remove it you'd have to dig up and mangle the body and disturb it -- as a creamted being the mangling has been done already thus theres nothing left really to disturb.---its just a "wild" free again gold nugget --think of it as a gold nuggets "rebirth"-- but if you are bothered in the least by it --put it back---however note someone else who not as kind as you might just "find "it (or you could get rid of it*) ---- so stop and think is 50 bucks worth of gold worth being mentally or spiritally bothered ?--- the bottom line is you found it --so you must decide what you will do with about it -- * you could sell it and give the money to worthy case so it will do some good -- its up to you ---thats just the way it is. Perhaps it was the remains of a chain or ring that fell into a camp fire?

IIRC, tooth gold is 10k - I'm thinking you're just scaring yourself with this whole cremation business!

Re: GOLD FOUND DO I KEEP OR PUT BACK

I had a friend find two gold teeth at a park. After showing them to a few of us we suggested he go back and take a closer look at the area and sure enough found a body. Police were notified and they had my buddy up all night questioning him. Ended up he was an old guy from like fifty years ago that went missing, he had Alzheimer's.

The gold would have melted in the cremation process and very unlikely be found as a 'nugget'.Hope you kept it.
