My personal score Garage Sales =10 Metal Detecting =0

At G sales I look for large lots of junk jewelery and take the time to look thru it. I have found 2 14k rings , 3 14k service pins plus 1 10k service pin, , 1 14k necklace, and 3 14k pendents. The most paid for any item (priced by seller) was $1.00 for one of the rings.

My results for CRH hunting are simular but I have not been completely shut out like detecting for gold.

I find my time Garage Sale hunting way more productive than either MDing or Coin Roll Hunting.

How about Y'all ,Yous guys, yuns?

Same results here! :icon_thumright:
I still CRH a bit but haven't picked up my XLT in quite a while.
MD, CRH, YS all are done on a saturday morning. Can't do more than one thing at a time. Since YS is much more productive ($$$$) I have chosen to do that at this time.

Your YS finds are also simular to mine also. Hope your not the competition I run into sometimes ;D

and, I don't call myself dollardan for nothin :laughing7:

happy hunting

I am in agreement, I have MD'ed only 4 or 5 times this yr. I yardsale every weekend of the month, but the one I have to work dayshift. I haven't been CRH'ing, but my daughter asks me if we can do it about every other time she is at the bank with me on our errands. T.

No competition from me Dan, I'm 3000 miles away. Funny thing here in Florida is I usually find small pieces of gold late in the day after the local competition has missed it! I find the key here is to stick with it and keep looking even if you get a few shut out days.

I agree with you on this big time. Not only can a person find just gold but a person can also find stuff like this at garage sales. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280546735428&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:ITI paid $5.00 for it. Yahoo for me!! Lets see one of these come up out of the ground. TeeHee. Not that I am ragging on MDing. Sometimes there is nothing like pulling an old corroded wheat cent out of the ground. So MDing does have its place.
