I went out today and hunted at an old horse farmhouse (early 1900s/late 1800s). I have been to this spot numerous times. It's been kind to give me something to keep me hooked each time I go out there. I found a BUNCH of junk today, but I found a really nice button by a big old oak tree. It has HARRISON & BROTHERS BALTIMORE and #203 MARKET ST. Do any of you know how old it is? 1556323450763.jpeg 1556323466845.jpeg 1556323529507.jpeg

Sorry I do not know the age, but I do know that I like the shape that reverse side is in. Nice find.

Thank you everyone! I has been an awesome year so far on this horse farm property. I tried looking up 203 market st baltimore md and nothing seems to pop up on google. Its probably because that the address is no longer there in Baltimore. Very interesting.....

More research on the backmark is needed, but the style of button is closer to the mid-19th C than later.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Okay, how do I research the mark on the back? By referencing from a book on relics?

I agree with Crusader, that type of button style was widely used 1830's to 1860's, after that, the styles changed.

Honestly, no idea where to research US button marks other than the web.

That maker is not listed in any of my reference books. I don't know if you can look him up in Baltimore history or not.
