Found some gold plated dimes in a $1000 bag. I've found plenty of gold plated halves but never a dime. Any ideas? They're all post 64 and vary in years with some multiples.

Maybe I'm a little late to the party-
This was in 1997:

Somebody found out just how much their Littleton coin collection was worth (hint: Face Value).

You sure they are GOLD plated and not just one of those science experiments like we find with pennies a lot?

Well... I'm not refering to alchemy in THAT sense... but if I did know how I wouldn't be telling ANYONE. That baby would be all MINE for the taking. ;)

I think you and the OP knew what I was actually talking about though, in that there are quite a few kids in science labs in high school and junior high and such that add some chemicals to a solution they throw pennies in and see them turn color to look like silver/steel/gold, etc. pennies.

Though on second look those dimes do look very much like the plated halves... though who would plate a dime and why is a strange question indeed.
