I'm a complete novice when it comes to prospecting and gold. We just don't have much of it here in Ohio (just small placer gold/flakes).

Is that the way raw nuggets look when they come out of the ground or have those been melted and reformed? They look like molten globs. I would have expected natural nuggets to have rougher edges and look just a little more like rocks.

Thanks. Very cool. I've never really seen a gold nugget. And unless I get out of Ohio (or buy one) I probably never will. :icon_pirat:

Any idea how much that big one weighs? That gold sure is purty!

I'll check with my neighbor on the weight of the big one. He is in Alaska right now. Oh, his equipment is way past pans... try front end loaders and dozers. My guess is between 3 and 4 ounces. TTC
