While in my back yard I think I found some gold in a rock what you think. First pick is right above my thumb second pic shows the shine

I would say its probably not, more than likely its pyrite. But the matrix it is in is correct so get it tested.

Does the color shine at you in the shade. Gold still retains a luster in the shade, while fools gold only reflects light and goes dull in the shade. That's always my first test, and if is still shines in the shade I start getting excited.
