Hello!

I got out for a couple hours today! Dang, the ground is hard as a rock, but I still managed to snag a few goodies. A junk costume jewelry giraffe, 2007-D John Adams presidential golden dollar, 1899 Indian Head cent, 1916-s Walking Liberty Half dollar (KEY DATE), a few wheat cents, and plenty of modern clad.

This hobby never ceases to amaze me. The 1899 Indian was maybe 2 inches deep, but the 1916-s Walking Lib half was about 7 or 8 inches deep in the same strip of grass! WEIRD!! . . . . you just never know . . . gotta dig all them targets!

The Walking Liberty must have been next to some iron ~ there's lots of rust on it.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Yep! Fascinating hobby! I have a lot of trouble skipping any target anymore. I found my oldest coin this year, a 1724 Half Penny. It was just barely covered over by a layer of dirt!!! I almost dismissed it as surface slaw. I picked it up because I was doing my part to clean up the park.

BOY! Was I surprised!

Exceptionally good saves!

Sweet big silver!!! It definitely must have been next to some iron judging by the way it looked before you cleaned it off. Congrats!

Nice collection of finds, funny how those new dollar coins show up with the older stuff. Found a couple myself here and there thinking I really had something cool till it was cleaned.
