I found a similar token when planting a mothers day rose in the front yard of my house a couple of months ago. The one i found had a local business owners name and town on the back. From what some of the old timers have said a lot of local businesses used these tokens as incentives thrown in with a purchase - kinda like a coupon. You might do some research, J I M might be the initials of a local business from back in the 30's thru 60's.

Judging from the reverse die, your token was struck by a Detroit manufacturer in the 1910-15 time period.
