Gold in the dirt...

When I lived in Kansas every year that beautiful black dirt in the parks gave up 6-12 gold items a year.
Now here in the south my mineralized, trashed out and iron infested devil dirt it is a different story and not so easy.
Still, even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in awhile.

2.3g of 14k.
Also stamped HAPPINESS...no idea what that's all about.
Fits the wife's pinky perfectly so I owned it for about 2 hours.
That's fine, I enjoyed it and now so can she.

Great Find! Finds like those makes it fun!

Thank you!
I haven't found gold in about 3 years, the last one was a huge 9 gram 14k religious medal found in another area of this same supposedly hunted out park.
That one is so big and blingy the wife didn't want it which shocked me.
I have been filling my time since then digging old Indians, buffs, V nickels and silver coins including SLQ's, Walkers and even a Peace dollar...that big, beautiful coin came out of this same park.
I found this park isn't as hunted out as other hunters thought it was.
Gold, however, has always been my favorite target to dig...even more than coins.
Nice to finally recover some again.

Great find! Ironic that the inscription provided you and your wife that feeling and the person who lost it just the opposite..

The area I found it seems to have a ton of targets that date back to at least the 40's but many could be older than that since the park was dedicated in the mid 20's.
Two people in my household are happy I found it, for sure.
Thanks!

That's a nice one! My wife "keeps track of" all my rings for me. How nice of her!

Sure, who needs an accountant with a person that can do that so effortlessly.
Also mine can sniff out real gold a mile away.
I have acid to test with but she is more than just accurate...it's uncanny.

Thank you!
