Hi, l have the same problem. l would be interested in the answer also.
l find that l prefer "flash earth" sometimes as it behaves better. they complement each other.

Just tried that one on an area I've been trying to research, and I'm pretty sure I just found an abandoned road and an old home site......Liking it so far, I never noticed this particular spot on google....

I use Google Earth often and have the same problem. I THINK the answer lies in changing from 3D view to 2D view. I have not yet been sufficiently stirred to figure it out. TTC

click on "tools" at the top...

click "options"...

click the "navigation" tab...

select "Do not automatically tilt while zooming"

Only if you own a personal satellite...lol. I like looking at the image of my neighborhood and trying to figure out how old it is by the images shown.
