Got my 1st Shamokin embossed milk bottle. Also got 2 Reese milk bottles. I need to get some new brushes as I have no way to clean inside. Tooth brush to short. Got another hair treatment bottle. And a whole bunch of side embossed bottle. 1 had a giraffe on the front. The salt shaker was neat but broke. The big square bottle has 1934 stamped on bottom. I have no idea what glass sleeve thing is. Dug several. And 1 clay marble.

That 1/2 pint milk is cool! I love finding the 1/2 pint bottles, the design of that one is cool.

I had not thought to use a toothbrush, that may work for some of my smaller bottles! thanks for the idea.

I checked on worthpoint and it shows that a pint size Maurer's Dairy bottle went for $16, the half pint is worth more than the pint.

MAURER'S DAIRY MILK BOTTLE MOUNT CARMEL PA (04/16/2008)

There is a local milk bottle I can not wait to find, that is a half pint Doxsie Dairy. There is one on ebay rite now for $20 but it has a lip chip... still four people watching it. The thing you want to do is save your milk bottles and get each size and type of dairy bottle from the region and then you will certainly have something any collector will be interested in. It is not hard to get a decent local collection going.

Try cleaning with a piece of coat hanger, part of a scrub pad, (that will fit into the hole) and some dishwashing detergent.
For rush stains use part of a brillo pad with coat hanger. You can bend the end of the coat hanger to get into tight areas.
If you have a lot of haze inside your bottles you can polish the inside with some oil (olive oil) on a piece of rag, and the coat hanger tool.
Hides the scratches.
