Hey all. After finding out I had indeed found an artifact last night, I decided I would head back and give it a closer look. And wasn't disappointed either. Found this one lying right on its side waiting for me. I'll be checking this place out more often. Would anyone know what this one might be or date too?

Great looking artifact mainer...nice find. That type is like a cross between a bottleneck and an Orient Fishtail or something? Wish I could be more specific just don't know your area that well. Regardless of type it's a real nice point.

There is an Ohio Stemmed Lanceolate subtype that strongly resembles. Probably middle-later Paleo era (conjectural).

Seeing as people were probably following the retreating glacier edge north, bringing their technology with them, you might have a late survivor of a point type there that disappeared elsewhere by the time they made it where you are.

Or there might be no connection.

Nice piece !

I'm very curious about this point, to me looks like it was side notched, the reshaped. I hope matt pipes in.
I have very little experience with that far up North, so hopefully you will get more posts..
very nice find M.

Molly.

Reworked Ashtabula is what I think it is. How big is it. It kind of looks like those Danish daggers. Wouldn't that be interesting if that is what it was. Would tell a whole new story. :laughing7:..........Nice find Mainer keep them coming. We need some insitu's.....................HH........GTP :icon_thumright:
