I just had to get out. So I called my daughter and asked if my grandkids could go out and play at the beach. WHAT was I thinking?? It was 24 degrees and the wind was blowing heavy. The sun was out though. I got a penny and my grandson got a dime with his Ace 350. After about half an hour I said the heck with that and told them we were going exploring. Hopped into the Avalanche and took off.
First thing we came across was what was left of a rock house. Very interesting. I only had my CZ-21 with me and it wasn't much warmer so I didn't detect.
On the second picture if you look at the top rocks on the house on the left, you can see a small hill in the background. This is what is in that hill.
I have no idea if it was a hiding spot or a cooler of some sort. Just a small cubby hole and two large eye bolts that could have locked a door shut. No door left.
We also saw 5 bald eagles and a lot of hawks and a few deer and one rabbit.
I still do not know how to use my camera and couldn't get a close up of any eagle which is a shame. The second picture is a bald eagle in a tree. There were two but in trying to get a picture I scared one away.
We explored two mine shafts but they didn't go back in the mountain very far. It was a fun day none the less. Thanks for reading.
