Got into the woods for a few hours today. ;D

Temps in low 30's, no wind in the woods.
Ground frozen; did not even carry detector;
just scouting around. Into the woods and
followed a small stream.

Came across a broken William Roll, have
found a good one in the past; also came across a
broken insulator. Marked both locations and
will return in the spring for some "real digging." :wink:

I enjoyed the day and hope you enjoy the photos.

Loved the pics, can't wait to hear of your finds at this place in the spring.

Would love to get out and hike the woods to look at several potential areas, but with hunting going on, I am to afraid of getting shot at. Can't wait for hunting season to end.

Nice pictures, but how did that insulator get out there in the middle of nowhere? :icon_scratch:

smurf-42,
caution in the woods during hunting season;
hate to mess things up for a hunter.

The area I was in is a no hunting area in Cook
County Illinois. Deer all over the place; they should
be culled; the welfare of the deer herd and their
impact on the surrounding habitat is getting to be
a problem.

seger98,
said the same thing to myself :wink:; started looking
for old power poles, and what have you.
Did noticed some rows of older trees that could have been
planted, (or left standing when other areas were plowed
no sign of power lines or old poles.
Thinking old farm area. :icon_scratch:

Perhaps spring hunt will tell. :-\

all have a good un.......

Looks like you had a good day, Sherm. Nothing better than a quiet walk in the woods, just mother nature, God's creation and you. :thumbsup:

:wink: RR
