Found a huge chunk of Petrified wood today! I was looking for arrowheads in a dry creek bed . Has anyone ever found any petrified wood in or around arrow heads? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree . In east Texas Caddos were prevalent.
That's interesting to know...In north east Texas, they are almost always found together. Petrified wood was the only rock in the area that would fracture concoidally so was used extensively for tools and arrowheads there. In fact, any points found in the area made of other materials were almost certainly trade goods.
