If you can stay out of the snow. Down below Mt. Elbert, 45 degrees but pleasant other than a little windy. Not far north on the west end of Turquoise Lake about 3 inches of snow on the ground. And at 4 this afternoon, up on Fremont Pass, 22 degrees and snowing right on down. Roads were fine though. Saw an ominous pile of bolders along Halfmoon Creek. The feds are using these to block off 'unauthorized' roads, ATV trails and access to certain campsites in this area. I'll see how this plays out. With that size pile, they can block off a lot of things, so I hope this is not a move to force everybody into the pay campground. Saw a couple of places they blocked and agreed with it.

I ran that very tow motor on the top of Fremont for a time at Climax. I think that one is number 81 and there was an identical motor to it numbered 82. We used those to haul 4 rail carriage 5 yard concrete mixers to the concrete pour sites underground. They were both 15 ton motors and were purchase used and had cabs on them when they were delivered and said Pen Dixie Cement Co. on the side. The ore car is a 13 ton car and I also ran those trains and pulled 24 each of those cars with a 30 ton motor.
