Great new accessory! (Kneepads)

I'm on a stay at home vacation all this week and decided I would stop by Home Depot and pickup some knee pads before I went on today's hunt. I am amazed at the difference the kneepads made! Home Depot has at least 5-6 different kinds of kneepads that go from $4 to $40. I am 54 years old so that may be the reason, but used to feel every stick, pebble etc whenever I would kneel to dig anything. With these pads it makes it a pleasure to dig. I paid $11 for the kneepads I purchased:

ALL of Home Depot's kneepads: Search Results for*knee pads*at The Home Depot

The kneepads I bought: McGuire-Nicholas Foam Easy Swivel Knee Pads-1DM-343X-2 at The Home Depot

I know it might seem silly to be so excited about something like this, but the difference is night-and-day!

Yeah I have a pair as well. Being a printer, loading paper all my life has taken its toll on my knees. So these help with the pain of being on them.

I tried knee pads but found it uncomfortable to walk with them on. I carry a small rucksack when I MD and started tucking in a small gardening kneeling cushion. Does the trick for me.

I hear ya. I'm a pressman of 21 years myself. My knees are shot too .

29 years here! All them years of loading, rolling the edges down, flopping has killed my knees. Having a pair of pads are essential now at my age.

I had a co-worker that wore knee-pads all the time. But that was for a different reason.

Anyhow, good suggestion, I need to get some for my digging. I'll make my way to the local Home Depot after it quits raining...

Lol! I currently have a coworker that still uses them for the "different" reason!

I try and wear knee pads, but the straps on the ones I have chaff the back of my legs.

I wear double canvas pants and I also have removable canvas chaps that I wear when going in the woods. They also make the small sticks and rocks less felt under the knees. I think that the chaps costs me under $20. I originally bought them for work, but they are great for Mding.

I thought about buying canvas patches to place inside of my thinner pants to protect my knees.

I have knee pads very helpful in gravel & other rocky ground. I like the military (used) & I find them comfortable & at local gun shows they are sold for $10 a set ...Sam does not have junk made for the troops. Surplus supply store may offer them. Just works for me.
