Visible light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. Other forms of electromagnetic radiation are like light in many ways; they are just at different wavelengths that the human eye cannot see.
I have found similar specimens in Virginia. I’ve done a lot of research and ultimately come to the conclusion that to know for sure, its chemical makeup needs to be tested. Typically when you see that you think Alexandrite, but that’s super rare. Many different rocks have chatoyancy, alexandrite, sapphires and ruby can, sun and moon stone as well. Opalized quarts can appear color changing too. I’d check hardness and see if you can identify crystal structure but taking clear close up pictures and then blowing them up. lol… that’s the track I’m on… hope this is helpful!
