I am one of you. Glad I found the site. Ready to purchase my first metal detector, and appropriate equip to start digging up the past. Suggestions on what I should purchase? 500 budget or a bit more if it would make a difference. For now, weekend warrior kinda stuff. I live in New Mexico and have access to some potentially prime real estate.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.

Welcome! For a bit more, you can buy a Garrett AT Pro. It's a good detector for digging relics, coins and jewelry; and it's also waterproof. We have a lot of other options, give me a call if you wish to discuss.
