Tree,

I started looking at a 1350 GTP and ended up
with the 1500.

I could be wrong on some of these, but:

2500 has all metal deepseeking mode
2500 ground balance manually adjustable
2500 suface elimination, adjustable
2500 has "Treasure Talk"
2500 has a 2 box option.

Just matching up the features I went with the 1500.
Do not think I will be needing a 2 box unit
Did not want the "Talk Feature"
(I talk with myself now and would really
be confused with a third voice) ;)
Had the opportunity of working with another persons
1500, that really made the final decision for me.

Folks who have the 2500 seem to be pleased.
I am pleased with the 1500.
Have never run them side by side.

have a good un...............

Hi Tree,

I own the GTI 2500 and I am happy with the performace and features. The two negative things I can say is that it is a little on the heavy side and the pin pointer button get stuck sometimes. Happy detecting

If your not going to prospect or do any hunting in all metal mode then get the 1500

I don't know why but why does everyone complain about it's weight? (GTI-2500)
It's not heavy at all.. :)

Don,t own either but I am familiar with both. My opinion and most others I have discussed the two units with agree that for the cost the GTI 1500 would be the better detector.

i have a 2500 and in my opinion if you dont find true all metal mode usefull, and dont care about a manual ground balance then go for the 1500.

2500 has a true NON-motion all metal mode. It also has Surface and Salt elimination
and manual ground balancing. For an extra $200, I think its well worth it. How many times
have You bought something and wished You'd paid a little extra for some features now you
need?? I looked at the 1500 and GTP350 and decided on spending the extra. Glad I did!!

2500

If your going to do any relic hunting with it I would suggest the 2500 due to the all metal mode as that is a must to relic hunt as you will need the extra depth that it gives.
I have owned a 1250 and then upgraded to the 2500

Pros:
I like the size imaging.
All-Metal mode
Very adjustable but easy to use with turn on and go programs

Cons:
All Garretts have a built in Iron mask which is not good for relic hunting because it mask good targets out as well.
Lack of coil sizes (need to make a smaller coil for trashy areas)
Weight ( if ya swing all day you will know it)
A little pricey

Now for the truth...It is my backup machine as I swing a Whites DFX and wouldn't give 2 garrett 2500's for 1 DFX. Of course I relic hunt and the DFX's ability to find small brass is great.

hope this helps
