So I decided to hit a school yard for my last hunt of 2010. The fence borders houses that were built in the 30's and 40's, and on one of the houses the fence is right up to the house. So I figured when they built the school they must have taken some of this house's back yard and perhaps I might at least come away with a Merc.
Well, I didn't get a Merc but I got a '62 Rosie, which is almost as sweet. It was down about 7" and gave a warbly signal. It must have been on edge. If it hadn't given a steady +37 on my Safari I might have just passed it up. Also found was an old button. Not worth anything but gave me some indication I was in the right spot.
