i'm in west virginia at a conference and i brought along the coinstrike. had 2hrs to kill so i went for a drive and saw a spot that got my attention. some old trees and some picnic tables. within 10 minutes i get a signal thats both good and then questionable, depending on how i swing it. i dug it and got a pull tab. cant be, pulltabs dont ring up in the silver scale. one more scoop with the knife and i pop out a barber half! man, i was doing the happy silver dance, the happy old coin dance, and the happy first half dollar dance all a once!!! ;D

had to travel across the country to get a barber half!

Nice find, re-tek!! I'd be doing the happy dance too. I've found one barber half (1907) this year about 4 mi. from my home, and it's still exciting for me to hold it in my hand and think about who lost it.

Nice find, sweet looking coin. I had to travel from Indiana to West VA just to find my 1880 $5 gold piece. I think if you have a "to get coin", then go to WVA!!

That is so cool! I'm still looking for my first half. I'll say it again, the greatest feeling in MDing is when the target in the ground far exceeds your expectations.

The big silver is always nice to find, I am sure it was a rush for you. LOL< the last one I dug, I was sure it was going to be an aluminum can, well, it almost was, there was an Aluminum can within a foot of the coin...............

I'll give you directions Henry. I think I know the spot. :D ;D

Very sweet find.

I had a coinstrike. Great machine for traveling. Took it with me on a trip to Texas. It was a fun machine. Good luck.
