The date code M with a strike through in a shield is a stumper. I only found one M with a strike, Edinburgh 1967. But it's not in a shield.

I had a Watson sterling bouquet holder that sold in the $200. range. It had a beautiful peacock motif on it. I'm not trying be a Debbie Dower here, but I think your piece was all enameled when it was first made. Most Watson holders I've seen where all enameled, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info Tamrock. I always prefer to know. I paid a couple dollars for it and my lady friend likes it so I'm happy.
