So I finished working the field where I found the counterfeit 8 Reale yesterday. I found a variety of things. The best thing that I found today was an 1854 half dime. If anybody can ID the black thing, and the weird button looking thing that would be great. I also found what looks to be an old Machete. Feel free to comment on any of the finds since I am having trouble with the identification of most.

That half dime is one of the most beautiful coins. What a treat to dig that baby up.

The iron buckles are sweet. My bro has dug quite a few this year as well.

Nice half dime. Those are great to find. They are so small.

The one item I know someone once told me what it was because I have found one.....but my poor memory has other useless information stored in it's place! :D ;D

Great half dime! I'm hoping to find one someday too. Being so small, it seems like they would be rare to find.

Nice finds, thanks for the pics. Gotta Love those 1/2 dimes. Your's in one of the early ones.

The black core, looks like a plug from an oil well. I have dug a lot of them and the ones I have found are core samples, when they used to drill for Ohio, back in the early days here in Ohio and in Kentucky.
