3x,
One of the capped busts came from a park near a church in Ardmore, PA. The other came from East Fairmount Park in Philly. Both were found 15 to 20 years ago with Whites detectors. Curiously, both were right on top of the ground. The 1847 Seated I found about three years ago on the grounds of the old Shriners Hospital in Northeast Philly. That one was four or five inches deep and it was found with a Minelab Explorer XS. The 1857 was found some time ago in Hunting Park in Philly. Can't remember how deep it was, but it was found with a Whites detector also.

Man, those are nice. I have found three Seated and one Bust half dime, but every one of them is holed.

A buddy of mine recently found two Bust half dimes almost as nice as yours, on a site near my house. I wasn't as lucky, though.

I've found that my half dimes usually beeped in approximately the pulltab range of the detector's meter- anybody else?
