Halloween hunt - First Gold on Beautiful Fountain Pen

Got away from the populated parts of town today and took my XP Deus into the woods for a short walk before the trick-er-treaters came by. After digging a few pieces of modern junk, I found this ink pen in very nice condition. It seems interesting that it's this cool orange color!

Some quick research shows this to be a Parker Duofold Senior made in the early 1920s. This is also my first gold find. It was standing cap up about 6 inches down. Have any of you other guys found pens out there?

Nice find. Does it have a rubber bladder where you pull and release a clip on the side to fill with ink?

Yes. It's that type. There is a button under the end cap you pump to fill it.

It sure rang out nice and smooth on Deus Fast program. Read 45 - 49 at 17khz.

That is one cool find. Amazing how it is all there too! You might want to try lightly cleaning it. Look on Ebay, it's worth quite a bit more than your average pen.
Just this morning I was watching Sunday Morning, and they had a little section on the history of the Parker Pen Company. What a coincidence!

Thanks guys! It is amazing that it was all together and not broken. The ground was very soft forest bed. Rotting leaves and such.

I have a certain buddy named Vino that uses the Deus. Let's just say he does ok with that machine lol. He has found more amazing stuff this summer than a guy can comprehend. You chose wisely
