Hand forged Shingling hatchet

It sure was a dreary rainy day today. Fall is definately in Vermont and the leaves are turning. Spent about four hours in an old field that dates to the early-mid 1800's. Found a nice forged hatchet that I believe was used for shingles. Probably mid 1800's. Thanks for looking. Lance

Yes I would agree !!! FALL is definitely in the air...here in western NY the weather is not the greatest either. Wet and rainy....... But hunting in those conditions sometimes pay off, that is one nice hatchet . Congrats on a well deserved Relic !!!

Thats a great looking hatchet Lance, I haven't felt up to going out lately but our big hunt is in Maine next week end so I hope I feel better, they are planting Morgans this year.
