I have not posted this year yet and finally on vacation and my knee after surgery is 100% Sep 2012.
Myself have been Hooka diving but have not found anything but trash last couple days in Northwest CT.
Today I decided to try to beat the heat and went land metal detecting but lost to the flies/nats. To include a skunk looking for grubs which eventually skittered away. Started out at 0500 /75 degrees fahrenheit, 80 plus humidity and had a gut feeling about this huge sports complex/multiple balls fields could be <virgin ground. Worst case I'd pick up some clad which I had apx 3.00 worth. But I hit two items of note, they were >1800's copper large cents. One was a complete disaster even a third missing. Second copper I was able to dry rub with a pencil and you can see lady liberty's head.....Still a great finds and temperature getting 85 ish now at 0830 in direct sunlight. I called the morning and will enjoy a cool beverage. Please enjoy and thanks for looking. As always God bless America and the deployed troops.

P.S. The ground is lightening up good for this time of year due to the fact we have been inundated with large sums of rain and make the coins pop on Whites Spectra / 6X10 DD coil.

Congrats on a nice pile of coins. :icon_thumleft: The LC you posted looks more like a King George copper to me.

Thank you so much too, I have Goggled two mentioned copper coins i.e. Large cent and a King George(jpegs are not my coins). Very close as to the point of the head in pencil etching of my copper vs Goggled coins.

Additional notes: I have metal detected other ball fields and come with Ole copper finds. My Guess is that soil was removed/transplanted from another parcel and brought in to the ball fields/ or old farm land here in CT converted to parks. FYI the copper does not stand up in our NW CT soil:(

Holy mackerel I think your right? I tried to scan off my scanner (but failed) the neckline is different from a 1800's large cent....So cool a Ct copper coin :hello2: Thank you to Wildcat 1750, I still need to pass my USAF mandatory P/T test every year!

I don't think it's a CT Copper. Looks like an old head (not young head like the photo you posted in your other post) King George II halfpenny. Regardless, colonial coppers are all good finds!
