I saw the posts on the forum showing the mod for the HF detector. I got the dry box and pvc. I have everything in the dry box and now I am getting just about zero depth on readings. The detector turns on and will detect metal but just barely. I have to pretty much run the item through the hole in the center of the coil in order to get it to beep. I had removed the meter from the board by just cutting the wires and taping them off. Do I need to put the meter back on or possible connect them in order to get the detector working again? I have done no soldering on the board during the mod. I only soldered the battery box connections back on at the battery.
