Went to a local farm today that was a hospital during Valley Forge. Nothing from the Revolution, but I did find this 1830’s era Hard Times Token. It is the New York Joint Stock Exchange version and is mostly readable. The 1864 and 1880’s nickel were from last weekend’s hunt. Thanks everyone! I do feel for the guy who lost the token. He was probably having a rough year anyway, seeing the entire monetary system was in shambles. Then he ups and looses the replacement money.
