Anyone know how to date this,i found it today at the site of an old tannery in giles county,va.

Best I can tell you on those is to guess based on the other relics found in the area associated with it.

They typically remained very similar for a long time. Wouldn't want to age a site from one of those. Try nail types, glass, artifacts etc

I agree with the others. Harmonicas have been in use for a long time. Try to find something else in the area that could help you narrow down the time era.
