I found this last year in a farm dump. Have no idea what it is, nor the era that it was made in. Maybe the victorian age?

how old is this lamp? I have found lamps from the 1890s at this dump so could it be from that time period?

If you were to take and turn that upside down from the photo, I think it is the top to an old hanging lamp.
I already figured that, just want to know what size the thing is. First rule of posting a whatsit, give as much information as possible.

ps- I don't think it's upside down neither.

I believe it's tbe bottom of a hanging oil lamp... They have like a Tiffany lamp look... And many were converted to electric, because tbe glass was beautiful.

Edit... Sorry I didn't read down n see it was ID'ed. I got excited cause I knew what something was.. Lol

Although I don't know the dimensions, it looks like a planter that would have been on a trellis. Looking at the last photo, it appears if you turned the handle, it would open the slots at the bottom, thus releasing water to allow the plant to drain. Of course, my speculation may be in vain since I don't know what size it is.

i will look for some pictures but i agree with Breezie , to me it looks like a old flower basket for funerals or grave sites.

So this was made between 1890-1900, and when did they stop making them?
