These I took this morning taking the dogs out for a walk. This little farm pond we go by had some Pelicans hanging out in it this morning and I saw this large Hawk on a fence post. It's a Broad Wing Hawk and it just decided to take off within seconds of the picture I took of it, so I only got one shot of him. I saw one of these kind of hawks trying to get one of my neighbors chicken once and they really love to go after big Bull Snakes, as I often see them fly by with a snake in their talons.

After a year of seeing all the raptor pics on here, I am starting to warm up to them. Getting a photo of one with a snake would be a cool shot. Anyone up to the challenge?

PS. I think you were invading the pelicans privacy. :laughing9:

Cool photos!

Cool photos!
It looked like they were pulling out their down feathers and littering the pond with them. In this link I posted a hawk devouring a garter snake. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/my-daily-snapshot/513562-stop-quick-bite.html
