Hay Cut Field No.2 + No.3...

[CRUSADER]

The first field we tried was one that we have let 'rest' for a few years. It used to be very good but we sucked most finds off it. In 2.5 hours we had:

2 Scrappies - 1 Honorius, which is a scarce coin to find in bronze!
17th C Token
2 Lead Tokens
Lead 'Ladies Face' Pilgrims Badge - another scrace find!

The 2nd grass field we had never tried, it was by the river & close to an old 19th C Mill. Funny enough we walked into the field some way, turn on the detectors, I dug an iron ring immediately & Dad did a couple of swings & first dig got a hammered! We then gridded for 2.5 hours with:

1573 Lizzy Threepence
18th C Furniture Decor (maybe horse??)
Early 1900s Lead Cannon
Nice little Lesney Car (lots of paint)
Bits...

Forgot to say yesterday, this hammered is our 500th since records began. (more if you count the early years)

Also, we met a father & 2 kids on their way down the river. They we interested in our finds & then said they were looking for a penknife. Dad then spent 30 minutes finding it for them. We always jump at these opportunities, even before we were asked.

18th C furniture decor. Although I have seen similar 18th C horse bosses, but they normally have different fittings.
