I am really excited about this coin. I know it's not in great shape, but I hardly ever find coppers, particularly ones that are identifiable. This one looks to be King George II, and I believe the date is 175?. I found it in a farm field near an old homestead. Also found this milkglass cap liner from a mason jar. The cross has the letters HFJ Co., which should be the Hero Fruit Jar company. I believe this was made sometime from the 1880s to 1908. I only found it because the zinc remnant of the cap was still stuck to it. Also found this heel plate with a clover design. It is small, so it could be from a woman's shoe. I believe it is Civil War era, though not military. The heel plate must have prolonged the life of the shoe, and made for a distinctive pattern in the soil. Thanks for looking. HH!

I always enjoy finding a large copper...especially if you can identify it. Yours looks pretty good to me. The cap liner is quite nice too. I have found a few intact ones, but mostly they come out of the ground with a big crack or chip.
