Heading to New Orleans

So I will be heading to New Orleans to visit some family and have already contacted my primary bank down there and they are ordering me several boxes of halfs. I have never hunted for coins down south and was wondering how it is down there. I dont want to step on anyones toes but any info would be good. I cant wait to get out of town for a bit or relaxation.
