Headphones provided for ATG

My sounds I have gotten from my detector seem to get interrupted. Has anyone gotten faulty headphones from the factory? Or is it a bad connection port?
I made sure was fastened all the way. I would try to pinpoint, and it would stop with the tone. Iwould hit it again

I would have to press and hold the button again or duplicate again to get it to work. When phones weren't attached pinpointer would work. Is that a short in jack wiring? Hope not. I'm dying to use in the field.

Just started. Going on first hunt tomorrow. Plus taking samples from some spots to pan. Got a couple pointers that came with my order. One looks like a light saber, the other looks like a mini Garrett pointer (wanna be). Probably video taping target practice. Maybe gold conductors so I'll test how small a piece can get detected. Lol
