Hearing Aids & Detectors

I don't know if this is the correct forum for this but here goes:

I am very keen to get myself a Gold Bug or similar detector to find small gold. However I have high frequency industrial hearing loss from working in noisy areas. Am I going to be able to hear my detector if I happen to strike a nugget. My aids do have a volume control but I am now wondering if my dream of getting out there finding a fortune may not be possible. I read through the forums that gold only gives a very faint signal through the phones.

Are there any hearing aid wearers out there who can use detectors, and find that it is possible?

A good set of headphones(rystal/calrad under $35 with volume controls) work great--I sold many 1,000's to folks hard a hearing. Go to a detector store/mining or visit a local club to test for your particuliar auditory problem--DO NOT LET IT STOP YOU!!!!

I have the same type of hearing loss as you only a constant loud ringing that never stops.
I recomment Black Widows They are made for the hearing impaired and they WORK WELL.
