OK, so I found this odd looking stone here in western NC some years ago and was hoping someone could tell me what I have.
As you can see it's rather heart shaped, has one larger raised brownish vein down the center, and a lot of odd root looking type raised veins all over.
Is there such a thing as fossilized roots?
The stone is approx 3" wide and 2" at its highest point.
Thanks for any input.
MM
