I am not yet 100% sure but it seems we picked up a heavy platinum ring today, it weighs 16 grams and that's more than our two wedding rings of gold - together! And we have heavy ones (13g together). I cant read the stamp myself, it seems to be 4 something followed by Pt, but in very small text. It is probably a female ring as it doesn't even fit my smallest finger.
Will bring it to a jeweler later to see what it is. Also a commemorative Dirham showed up, they are pretty rare here.

Update: We brought it to a jeweler at the Mall of the Emirates today as we went shopping and he assessed the shop price for such a ring (actually 16.9 grams) to be 5.700 Dirhams (I think one divides that with abouot 3.7 to get the USD value, so about 1850 Dollars - the Safari is paid for!!)

What did it ring up at? ¿°

I have a Safari, with the Little Joey Coil, the sand is semi dry and the ring was at about 15cm depth. It showed as a 17, but the tone was somewhat lower than the usual pull tabs, it was also "steady" and clear, where most pull tabs I encounter here "jump" between 13 to 18 when I roam over them.

The Dirhams show up as steady sounds from 15 (in general) to 18, but they have a higher tone. Most of them are 16's though. If they are "clean", or non-corroded, then they are mostly 16's.
