Hello! My name is Jason , I just recently started detecting and have made some interesting finds so far. I may need help with identifying a few small things I've dug. I don't think they are anything spectacular but I would like to know the history and maybe what they are lol. I'm new to it, but am a history buff, especially the civil war era. I've found over 20 bullets since I've started a month ago and am excited about those finds, but I have a few button looking? Things I cannot find any info on. Is this the thread for help on those situations? ( I'm new to this site too)
Thanks everyone!

Here are my recent find at a military train station ( according to my map) that is now mostly a neighborhood with a few surrounding fields outside of Petersburg Va. I also found 2 horseshoes and a few diamond shaped rail spikes not pictured.

This is a find that I'm not sure about, I found it around alot of bullets and odds and ends, it has a small hole in the thing protruding from the spike. Any help with what this could be? Also I've dug two flat buttons ( I think) that say warrented London colour on the back . And one round button back that says extra quality. Are these civil war buttons? Or some farmers lol. Thanks for any help!

Looks like it was attached to a flagpole maybe, carry pole. Then it looks as thou a rope or flag attached to the nipple . Just a guess
