I found this site randomly on the internet. I have always thought about picking up this hobby since my Grandfather was into it. He and his friends were tracking down some cache of gold somewhere in the 80's and sadly he passed away before he found it. But after a trip through his garage I found all his old gear, maps, journals, etc. Looked like fun so I thought Id give it a stab. Plus it gets me off the couch and hiking with a purpose. The trails out here get real old after awhile. So Im a NOOB to all this but Im here in Arizona so if you need an extra hand or willing to dish out some advice Ill gladly listen.
